Below are a handful of my favorite images from this fun & loving extended family. These siblings came in from all over to be together as a family in Roanoke. I had so much fun getting to know them during our session along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy these sneak peeks before their official gallery delivery! xoxo

“You & I will be lost & found a thousand times along this cobbled road of us.” -Atticus
If you’ve seen me in the last week, you know how excited I’ve been for my new collection of poems by Atticus to arrive. I had to have a hard copy- something I could mark up, scribble thoughts in along the margins, & to one day pass the love-worn pages to someone else who’ll devour it like I have. Broken in to 3 thoughtful sections, Love Her Wild is nothing short of inspiring. The photo session below carries the sentiment of the quote above that there is beauty, darkness, happiness, & longing in relationships. And yet, if we seek to find each other, truly love each other, we’ll be found over and over.
For seekers of heartbreaking poetry- I keep up with Atticus on Instagram here- https://www.instagram.com/atticuspoetry/?hl=en

Vlad & Mera are the kind of couple that remind you that love is real. Watching them interact and joke and laugh was so fun. They’d go from being serious to laughter to chasing each other, all while paying attention to the other person. Our setting along the river was the perfect environment for them to explore and spend time together. Vlad drove us to the river, through some seriously winding mountain roads to find this pretty spot. They chatted easily about their day- Mera is a nurse and momma, Vlad is a photographer and stay at home daddy. They shared their beliefs and faith with me, and how they knew God led them to each other years earlier. I was immediately at peace around them and was so grateful for people like them who work diligently to take care of the life they’re building together.
Congrats to Jacob on his recent high school graduation! Hanging out with him for the evening in the quiet of Roanoke’s Community Arboretum, I learned about his great taste in music and that he was putting in paperwork to become a missionary. He’s since received his calling to serve in Washington for 2 years! Wishing you safety & happiness on your adventure, Jacob! Here’s a little bit about what missionaries like him are about 🙂 https://www.mormon.org/chat
Local Tip- About once a month, I end up taking a quiet Sunday walk in Roanoke’s Community Arboretum. The kiddos run ahead to explore & I soak in the pretty flowers before the sun goes down. If you’re nearby, go see! It’s free and low key- two things I can definitely get on board with. Navigate to Virginia Western Community College, & you’ll see the Community Arboretum sign from the road. Easy peasy! Here’s their website for details- https://www.virginiawestern.edu/arboretum/index.php/
